Andy is a leading Airworthiness Engineering & Project Management expert. A former Royal Air Force Engineering Officer mainly on C-130 aircraft he went on to work with Westland Helicopters in Commercial, Project Management and Quality roles (in which he gained JAA Part 21 POA approval). He became the Chief of Airworthiness for Westland Transmissions as a founder member of their design team. He wrote their Design Manuals, and achieved Design Organisation Approval under the, then, JAA requirements, converting that to EASA Part 21 approval later. Andy is a lead auditor and a CVE experienced in flight-critical mechanical systems. Today Andy works as a consultant engineer in airworthiness, particularly in military and civil aerospace organisational approvals, auditing of approved organisations, aircraft type certification and safety analysis.
