Formerly an Airbus Senior Manager (UK & France) Alastair has over 29 years experience in aerospace Procurement & Manufacturing Operations. His expertise covers strategy creation and execution, negotiation and contracting, supply chain management, schedule recovery, process & development planning, work package scoping, specification formulation, bid analysis and supplier selection. Before leaving Airbus, as Key Accounts / New Product Procurement Strategy Manager with Airbus France, he was responsible as a supplier expert in the provision of sourcing strategy for future aircraft developments (next generation single-aisle A30X), leading early supplier engagement, research into future global market analysis and being a focal point, consultant and mentor to negotiating teams for cost reduction, approving bidding lists and selection reports. Other positions Alastair held included: Head of A380 Wing Procurement; Commodity Manager; Manufacturing Manager; Programme & Project Manager. He has worked with many 1st-tier international suppliers including: Europe (SAAB, GKN, RUAG, Fokker), Canada/USA (Magellan, Spirit, Vought, ADI), Australia (former HdH), South Korea (KAI), as well as companies in Malaysia, China, Japan and Taiwan. Alastair holds an MSc in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Warwick and resides both in UK and France.
