Assignment
Develop new material manufacturing process technology for aircraft wing applications at a lower recurring cost and lower overall cost of acquisition. Trade and feasibility studies. Support client in presentations to OEM customer.
Approach
Work closely with materials development center in USA and European research partners to evaluate existing process methodology of competing composite materials and develop low cost, highly efficient new manufacturing processes for new ultra-light, high strength aluminium material.
Outcome
Demonstrated to OEM customer new aluminium material manufacturing process offered a lower overall cost of acquisition. Results in 25% capex comparative saving with that of composite materials, faster takt, lower facility sq.ft. reqmt.
