Hawksland helps OEM develop next generation aircraft materials
Hawksland Associates has recently concluded an assignment for a global materials OEM developing an advanced lower weight and lower cost material for a next generation single aisle aircraft.
Commissioned to conduct material manufacturing process feasibility and industrialisation studies Hawksland Associates – Gary Windas, Jon Laughton and Bob Griffiths worked closely with the North American client team and their appointed independent R & D unit based in Europe. Hawksland carried-out in-depth research and analysis on current and emerging materials and manufacturing process technologies, performing trade-studies comparing the latest composite materials with advanced metallic materials. The objective was to identify an optimal material and process manufacturing technology to provide OEM aircraft clients with a lowest cost, lowest weight solution for their next generation single-aisle aircraft programmes. In addition, Hawksland has supported its client in presentations to the OEM customer base providing its independent findings.
Project Testimonials
I worked with Gary Windas – Hawksland’s MD in the early stages of his career. It was clear even then that he was a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with a real thirst for knowledge in the industry. Highly recommended.
